Epistemische und soziale Robustheit innerhalb der Forschung – untersucht am Beispiel der Replikationskrise in der Psychologie
This bridging project takes a philosophical and sociological approach to addressing the question of which epistemic and social criteria new scientific knowledge must meet in order to be considered robust by academics. The project revolves around the “dual structure” of epistemic and social robustness for societal processes of testing scientific knowledge (e.g., Nowotny; Lentsch/Weingart). It empirically examines whether a comparable “dual structure” of processes exists for testing such knowledge within the scientific community. Group discussions will be conducted with young scholars in the field of psychology to generate insights for this project.
