The LCSS is funding interdisciplinary linking projects for pursuing two scientific objectives: First, the interdisciplinary analysis of interactions between science and society. Second, the development of systematic links between Higher Education Research and Science Studies. Linking projects need to analyze one of those objectives and, in addition, at least one of the four research areas of the LCSS (epistemology, legitimation and normativity, functional differentiation, and social differentiation) has to be considered and analyzed from at least two disciplinary perspectives. We welcome projects that are designed across faculty boundaries.
Full members can submit proposals for the funding of linking projects. Associated members (professors), in turn, can apply cooperating with a full member. Moreover, members of the Leibniz University without membership in the LCSS can submit a proposal together with a full member. The proposals have to include at least two applicants that work in two different academic disciplines.
The first linking projects will start by January 2017 and will be presented on our web page.
