LCSS Workshop: Young peoples’ perceptions of environmental crises: Perspectives from Indonesia, South Korea and Germany

The workshop aims to provide interdisciplinary perspectives on environmental crises through different approaches – sustainability design, information credibility, and environmental education. Drawing on a literature review, experiences, and an empirical study, this workshop will be shaped by the characteristics of three countries: South Korea, Indonesia, and Germany. Adopting a multidisciplinary participation approach, the participants will be engaged in collecting and systematizing ideas about the environmental crises, drawing on their expertise and disciplines. We focus on misinformation in social media influence, design opportunities for mitigating nature disconnection, and Systems Thinking abilities on understanding ocean crises. Participatory design would be used to gather responses from diverse background through the prompt questions. The workshop encourages interdisciplinary dialogue among researchers, teachers, and students. We will recognize patterns about how science content is being reflected to critically reflect the environmental crises and to derive perspectives towards actions.
