The Leibniz Center for Science and Society (LCSS) conducts theory-driven, empirical research in Science Studies and Higher Education Research. The LCSS focuses on the transformations and rapidly changing interactions between science and society. The majority of current studies depict this as a transition from the industrialized welfare-state towards a globalized knowledge society.
